Terms of Service

Last Updated: February 21, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity ("you") and Mortar Systems, Inc. ("Mortar", "we", "us", or "our"), concerning your access to and use of the Mortar website as well as any other media form, media channel, mobile website or related applications (collectively, the "Site" and "Services").

2. Use of Services

Mortar grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use our platform and CLI agents strictly in accordance with these terms. You agree that your use of the Services will not violate any applicable law or regulation.

Acceptable Use Policy

You may not attempt to reverse engineer the deterministic kernel, bypass CI/CD enforcement gates without proper authorization, or use the Services to facilitate the distribution of malicious software via API contracts.

3. Intellectual Property

The Mortar platform, including its scoring algorithms, kernel architecture, and UI designs, is the proprietary property of Mortar Systems, Inc. You retain all rights to the API specifications and metadata you upload or process through the Services.

4. CI/CD Gate Authority

Mortar provides signals and enforcement mechanisms. You acknowledge that configuring Mortar to "Block" releases is an operational decision made by you. Mortar is not liable for any delays in your software delivery lifecycle caused by policy enforcement.

5. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate your account or restrict access to the Services if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these terms or represent a security risk to other customers.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MORTAR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE AUTHORITY LAYER.
